Xavi Hernandez is another as one of the greatest ever players

Xavi Hernandez is another as one of the greatest ever players for Barcelona in the last couple of decades.

In fact, he would be one of the best players in the history of the club. Such is the contribution of the 35-year-old not just to the trophies won but also for the style of football. It was under the presence of Xavi at his peak when Guardiola brought back the passing style of football at the club to immense success. However, Xavi choose not to retire at the Camp Nou since he was in increasingly forced away from the first team.

Manager Luis Enrique decided to opt for the future and it meant that the 35-year-old Xavi was not a regular first choice. He has joined Middle East for the last couple of years of his career. Newly crowned Barcelona presidentJosep Maria Bartomeu says that the legendary midfielder is more likely to return to the Camp Nou once he hangs up his boots. Barcelona will want to continue the tradition of promoting from within. After having come through the ranks at the club, the ultimate progression for Xavi will be to coach the team at some point in the future. It has been the way with the likes of Guardiola and Enrique. Philippe Coutinho may get place in National Team

There are some players who knock on the door of the national team and then, there are others who just break open that door. Philippe Coutinho seems to be the one belonging to that second category.

The 22-year old Brazilian midfielder who has not been featuring for his national team in the recent times has now made it difficult for the Selecao boss Dunga to ignore him.

He has been showing a bit of a Midas touch for the Reds in the English first division Football this season.

It’s not only the goals that he has scored. A lot of players actually find the net, but, there are only few who catch the eyes.

Those who tend to score on big occasions are spoken about the most.

In pressure situations with whips cracking, Coutinho has lifted his game and has done the job for Liverpool and perhaps, tried to send a message to Dunga that he is ready for a national recall.

When he was given the opportunity to play International Football for the first time back in 2010, he was only 17 at that time and was just learning his art. He was pretty good though, but, perhaps not good enough for that level. Continue reading “Philippe Coutinho may get place in National Team”

Tom Cleverley on loan with Aston Villa

The 25 years old homegrown player of Manchester United, Tom Cleverley is currently out on a loan deal with Aston Villa. Cleverley has already experienced going through a number of different clubs on temporary contracts some of these clubs have been: Leicester City, Watford, Wigan Athletic and latest one is Aston Villa but according to the English midfielder, he believes that his career with Manchester United is over.

After having signed Angel Di Maria, Ander Herrera, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw and RadamelFalcao it was going to be extremely difficult for Tom Cleverley to get a consistent spot in the starting XI lineup of Louis van Gaal and other clubs in the Premier League started to get interested in signing Tom Cleverley as the English midfielder had no space left in Manchester United and Aston Villa signed him on a loan deal but it’s now being revealed that Cleverley can join Aston Villa on a permanent deal.

Aston Villa’s head coach Paul Lambert said: “We have an option on Tom. We have not gone into great detail but he has played well. He was the one lad who was busy on Saturday [at Everton]; he has so much to offer’’

“He’s a good guy, a good professional and does everything high tempo even when he trains. Whatever happens in January will happen, the option is there but we still have a couple of months to go. I just want him to play well here and enjoy it and that’s what he is doing which is half the battle. It’s not been an easy start playing at a new club but come January we will see.”

A permanent move to Aston Villa would be the best option for everyone in this case as Cleverley does seem to be playing much more relaxed and better overall in Aston Villa while Manchester United can receive a cash injection by selling a player that they have no plans to use in their immediate future and Aston Villa can sign a young and talented midfielder that can help in their journey of securing an Europa League spot.
