Carrick’s Absence Hurtful For Man U- Bryan Robson

Manchester United is in a bad state given the injury issues of Michael Carrick and according to Bryan Robson; their star man’s absence is getting really hurtful for the squad.

Carrick is much applauded for his consistent and steady influence on the team and the lack of it is proving to be damaging for Man U matches.

Even though the star midfielder has recently recovered from his ankle surgery that led him to miss out on the initial 3 months of this season- United legend Bryan Robson feels that it won’t be fair to throw Michael into a hectic Manchester derby so soon. The player has had just 1 run-out for under 21s & is most likely to have his 1st-squad comeback against a match with Crustal Palace which is 6 days post the derby game.

“Michael has been quite a huge miss to our team”, remarked Robson. “Whilst he was down with injury the past season, he’s a bad los for us & this season again. Carrick is a  very intelligent footballer who knows how to get into right areas. Being a 6ft 2”, he has his great stature as a fantastic advantage. Moreover he can intercept things extremely well & this is why he is so crucial to us.”

“The sole thing which a manager should be careful about is, in case there’re few footballers getting back from injury issues, you should not place too many on field who’re little rusty since it is a derby match. It would be million miles per hour& demand oodles of pace and passion- thus the boys who’ve been on field regularly carry better potential to keep pace with the heightened speed required.”

Manchester United have lost out on 5 of past 6 Premier League’s derby matches of late.

Pitch Invaders During Copa Peru

The Copa Peru is an annual tournament which is held in Peru which allows clubs to earn a promotion spot into the First Division League of the country while the runners up get into the Second Division. The first edition of the event commenced back in 1967 where the team of Alfonso Ugarte de Chiclin claimed the victory and was elected as the first champions.

During one on of the latest matches of the tournament that was played in this current year between Minsa FBC and Expreso Inambari, the match had to be suspended for a few minutes after a number of pitch invaders made their way through an area of the playing ground.

There have been occasions in matches that animals have interrupted matches and it’s fairly common for that to happen every once in a while but the people that witnessed this game saw something which does not happen every day as a herd of cows ran their way from one section of the pitch into another one.

The match was stalled for a few minutes as some of the players watched the cows stomp their way into a section of a pitch and had to wait for them to leave. This has sparked a number of criticism from people stating that this incident could have caused an injury to a player if he was unaware of the animals that were coming behind him however, there were no injured players as the cows ran into a section of the pitch that was not played at that particular moment but at the end of it all it still was a rare and rather comedic sight to see as videos of that match have been spread around just about everywhere including television shows and messages in social media displaying a touch of laughter.

Torres Admits He Has Lost Form

Fernando Torres has, for the first time, admitted that he is certainly not the player that Chelsea signed him for £ 50 million. The striker arrived from Liverpool in this British transfer record, but he has largely struggled during his time with the blues. He has managed just one goal every three league matches. Despite making more than 100 appearances for the club in the last three years, he has been ridiculed in several areas of the field. Torres says that he has even went to great lengths to understand the reason behind his poor form.

According to him, he does not seem to be doing anything different from his Liverpool and Atletico Madrid days. It is just that Chelsea style of play does not help him score the goals at the same frequency. Jose Mourinho said last season that he was happy with the performance of Torres, although in a defensive way. Torres failed to get into double figures for the league goals last season, as he was dominated by the likes of Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba. The competition is expected to increase in the summer with the expected arrival of Diego Costa.

However, this is not of Torres’ concern as the striker plans to work hard and prove his worth to Mourinho.

“Everyone was a bit lost. Before my arrival, Chelsea played with Anelka and Drogba in attack. I arrived to play alongside Anelka in a system with three midfielders. We played only one match with that system. At the time, David Luiz and myself went to see Ancelotti together because we had been the last arrivals, we were told we would be important, but, in reality, we weren’t playing. They finished by saying to us: ‘We are going to finish the season with the team that started it’,” said Torres.

WILL KROOS STAY?

One of the biggest summer targets of Manchester United has been Toni Kroos and at some point in time it was even believed that a deal was made involving both clubs but unfortunately for the side of Louis van Gaal, the German midfielder will not be making his way to Old Trafford.

“I am expecting to play for Bayern Munich next season. There was a lot of speculation, but Manchester is and was not an issue. At this point in time I am fully focused on preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup’’.

“I know that I have to accept and respect the recent statements of the authorities at Bayern Munich. Still, honestly, I did not expect anything else in that respect after I had turned down the offer of a new contract I received from the club at the start of the current calendar year.” Kroos revealed.

The rumors that were linking Kroos with Manchester United surfaced intensely during David Moyes time in charge of Old Trafford but it has been diminished intensely since the appointment and arrival of Louis van Gaal to United as the new coach.

With the conclusion of the Bundesliga, Pep Guardiola reviewed his debut season in charge of Bayern Munich as the Spanish manager considered the campaign to be successful but he went on saying that there still are things left to be done.

“This was a very difficult year for me; my first in Germany, so four titles is good. We have to keep working. There is much work left to do. I still have not managed to form the team according to my vision. It is, after all, my first year.” Guardiola announced.

During Guardiola’s debut season in charge of Bayern Munich he managed on securing the Bundesliga League, German Cup, UEFA Super and FIFA Club World Cup.
